Reddish Egret

I caught this Reddish Egret in Florida not so long ago – this was a moment where it was absolutely still.  It was fishing in the shallows of a small pond.  The late afternoon was cloudy, which cast a nice filter over the water – as not to wash out all of the color.  In it’s shadow, the legs and mushy underwater flora are clearly visible.  It is actually called a Reddish Egret – a medium sized heron.  I did not know that herons and egrets could be interchangeable!
