Photography Opening for Erik Eskedal at Christopher’s Cafe
Feb. 21, 2018, Lynn, MA – Christopher’s Café of Lynn, MA announces the return of photographer Erik Eskedal of Wakefield Ma., who will open his most current showing on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm., with wine and cheese from the cafe. The public is welcome to attend.
Focused, first, on composition, Eskedal chooses not to manipulate the objects of his art so much as to awaken to the beauty in their natural, unfinished state. Preferring randomness to perfection, Eskedal considers himself an “organic” artist.
“We first came to know Erik through his colleague who brought in some of his images for a combined showing of a few artists. Laying out all the artists’ works, we placed the most interesting ones by different walls to hang, and realized most of the pieces we’d selected were Erik’s, so we would need to shuffle the deck a little to give more space to other artists. That was when we realized that this photographer had something special,” explains café owner David Shalvoy.
Christopher’s Café, located at 2 Lewis St. in Lynn, regularly features local artists whom it considers to have distinguished themselves. Its high ceilings, big glass windows, and odd angles lend to an airy space with varied lighting for an interesting display. The café serves breakfast and lunch
